Elisa Berger, Ph.D.

Recognized as one of the industry’s most respected experts in customer analytics and data-driven marketing, Elisa Berger has spent more than 30 years helping organizations maximize customer value, improve marketing ROI, and turn data into profitable growth. She is President & Managing Partner of Cross Country Computer Corp. (CCC), where, under her leadership, the company’s client base has grown sevenfold and CCC has achieved its highest revenue and profitability in each of the past five years—the strongest performance in the company’s history. In 2025, CCC proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of helping organizations make smarter marketing decisions through data.

After establishing herself as a respected industry expert under the name Elisa Krause, she joined Cross Country Computer in 2008 as a partner alongside her husband, CEO Tom Berger. She led the company’s rebranding with a mission to make sophisticated customer intelligence and marketing analytics accessible to organizations of all sizes. Elisa also envisioned and led the development of the Database Marketing Optimization Suite, CCC’s powerful yet affordable platform for customer analysis, segmentation, targeting, and strategic marketing.

As President, Elisa oversees the company’s strategic direction, P&L, client services, sales, product development, data services, database and application development, and analytics. While she enjoys leading every aspect of the business, her greatest passion remains helping clients uncover opportunities that improve customer acquisition, retention, and long-term customer value through advanced analytics and practical business strategy.

Before joining CCC, Elisa built and led the analytics practices at both MBS and Abacus, a division of Epsilon. As Vice President of Analytics at Abacus, she created the Custom Analytics division, authored the annual Abacus Trend Reports for both consumer and business retailers, contributed to the development of the ClearEDGE database offering, and managed $25 million in client revenue.

Elisa is an active member of the American Commerce Marketing Association (ACMA), where she serves on the Membership Committee, and is also involved with NEMOA and other industry organizations. She regularly shares her expertise through conference presentations, webinars, white papers, blogs, articles, and interviews. Her work has been featured in DM News, Multichannel Merchant, Catalog Age, Catalog Success, and B to B Magazine, and she is frequently engaged as a ghostwriter for other marketing service providers. Elisa has been a featured speaker at NEMOA, NRF, ACC, DMA, and CRMC conferences and served as an international judge for the Echo Awards for more than five years.

Committed to giving back to the industry and developing future leaders, Elisa has successfully nominated four NEMOA Rising Stars and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of marketing professionals. She and Cross Country Computer actively support the Viscardi Center, and she has served on Hofstra University’s Women in Leadership Committee. In 2024, Elisa received the inaugural Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Alumni Spotlight Award in recognition of her professional achievements and community leadership.
